A simple letter

Beyond the Mind.

My 13th letter to you.

Beloved reader, how are you? I start my letter today by asking you this question because I care, but at the same time, I am confident that whatever you go through right now is something you can handle, and even if you can’t, there’s no shortage of help out there, whether it’s unseen or seen.

The first thing you need to do is ask for help and reach out your hand to grab a hand that is outstretched towards you.

Today I feel like writing about mental health because it’s an issue we all deal with at some point in life. And when we struggle with these issues of stress and poor mental health, we all may wake up in the morning and think the morning is the same as yesterday, that nothing is different. Then, day after day, we have to do the same thing repeatedly. But is it true?

When deep in our frustration, depression, and unease, we overlook the subtle details of our daily lives. We may not notice that we might sigh a few times more, or our right foot step out first, not our left foot. Maybe someone greets us early in the morning, and we see them smile at us. Or perhaps we swing our arms differently when we walk. Has it occurred to you that maybe you blink a few times less? Maybe we even chew slower on our breakfast? Perhaps we miss out on breakfast and have a slightly early brunch? All these subtle changes and details make your day-to-day different than the thought of “every day is the same.” Not every day is the same.

And the sun never went away, only the rotating of the earth. So nothing is as it seems. We may be too deeply in our drama to comprehend the simplicity of life, the wonder of what life offers, and how enjoyable the present moment is instead of living in our minds.

The first is to observe our thoughts, and the second is to ask them to stop and cease the chattering in our minds. Who is thinking? Whose thoughts is it?

When you touch your face because of pimples, you see in the mirror or pick up a coffee cup to drink, whether you smoke or take a walk. So who is doing all that? Has it ever occurred to you that all that is life? What if your consciousness can go beyond what you think you know? Or instead of having belief, you will have faith rather?

After philosophizing, you may want to experience the world’s truth and yourself differently. Maybe next time, you can smile at your thoughts or laugh at how silly all those chattering is.

May this letter find you well.
